Generic drugs are deemed equivalent in effectiveness to the brand name drug. The only difference is that they are considerably less expensive. 17.) Do I have to buy the generic versions of a drug? No, if you only want to purchase name brand drugs, you can specify your choice on the drug profile section on the medical health forms that you are required to send in. If you prefer to have a generic version substituted on only some of your meds, indicate on the "prescriptions to be filled" section in the health profile, which meds you prefer to have the generic version. 18.) Are all drugs less expensive in Canada? The majority of drugs are less expensive, but there are some exceptions. 19.) Why do some drugs have different names in Canada? These are trade or brand names registered by the manufacturer. In different countries the manufacturers will often use different trade names. However, the drugs have the exact same active ingredients, but, may have a different color, shape, or package. For example, the U.S. drug Prilosec is sold under the name Losec in Canada. 20.) Will Canada Drug Company accept third party insurance? No, at this time we are unable to process any foreign insurance claims. However, we will provide you with an official receipt in case your insurance company will accept them for reimbursement. 21.) Will there be a shipping charge for each prescription shipped?
